My best few hours metal detecting ever !

Well what can I say. Yesterday I went down to my usual pasture metal detecting permission and was bored of digging buttons and shrapnal.
So I decided to bite the bullet and go knocking on some farmers doors. Well the first farm I went to the farmer was just coming up his track in his tractor so I took advantage of the situation and stopped to ask him for permission. Permission was granted as easy as that which makes a great change to the normal outcome for me!

I set off detecting right away as I only had a couple of hours spare and straight away started pulling up old relics and hammered coin. Unfortunately home time came around quickly.

The next morning I was up at the crack of dawn ready to get back to the permission. Again, straight of the mark i was into more relics and other amazing coins.

I won't spoil the video by telling all as I'm really proud of this one and cannot wait till next weekend to get back down there before the crops go back on.

I used the Makro Racer in three tone mode with gain set at 90 and id filter at 25 and a good ground balance.

Metal detecting UK, Kiera gets a pocket spill including silver!

Well the Mrs was booked in to have her hair coloured today so Kiera told me she wouldn't mind coming metal detecting with me.
We got down to the usual pasture permission at around dinner time eager to find some buried treasures. Kiera was very generous and let me use my metal detector for the first couple of signals and then she decided I was on digging duties for the rest of the session.
There were not many finds made as we only stayed for a couple of hours due to the boiling midday sun but what was found definalty made up for it. Not only did Kiera find her first ever coin, she also found a pocket spill in the same hole, including a chunk of silver to boot!

I managed to get a final look in on the detecting whilst walking back to the car and found a little bit of silver myself in the shape of a 50% silver 6 pence.

If she wasn't hooked on this fascinating hobby already she bloody is now. Time to get her a detector of her own I think :)

Settings used on the Makro Racer were three tones, gain 95, id filter 25 and a good ground balance.

Enjoy the video and please click the thumbs up and subscribe as it will make Kiera's day :)

Metal detecting today reveals possible ww1 goggles?

Hi all, I managed to get out metal detecting today on two occasions of around 2 hours per trip.

I went to my usual pasture permission which has been used in the past as a Victorian racecourse, ww1 army training base and runway.

To be honest I was gutted at only finding one coin and it was a modern two pence coin at that, however I did make some other nice finds which I am happy about.

One of my favourite finds of the day was a possible pair of ww1 goggles which I am not 100% sure about but I think it's a possibility.

I also found a few other old looking  relics. So all in all it was a gold and silver free day but I still had fun and it shows you don't have to be finding precious metals every time you detect to have fun.

I hope you all enjoy the video as much as I enjoy putting them together and if you do please comment, thumbs up and subscribe.

Settings used on the Makro Racer were my usual deep pasture settings of three tones, gain 95, id filter 25 and a good ground balance on a clean area.
